Bloody egg

I went to gather eggs this morning and found one that had blood on the outside. Should I be worried?? It was one of my older hens who layed it. She is our most consistent layer and we’ve never had any problems with her before.

Think of it as a paper cut, sometimes there is a little tear. It will heal up just fine in a couple of days. Might be because she is going into molt, and her hormones are drying up. I would not worry about it, it might be a little for a day or two, but it should not be more than that.
