Bloody Egg?

Hi!

My pullet just laid her first egg a few minutes ago and it had some blood on the shell.
Her vent also looked a bit inflamed and has spots of blood on it. I will post a picture if that would help to identify what this is.

I just want to know if this is normal for a first egg, or if something is wrong and if we should do somethign about it.

Also, her face, comb and wattles went pale after she laid it.

Pullets can have egg laying issues until their system gets going. It takes a few months for these laying issues to get worked out. Just keep an eye on her just in case. But this situation will probably stop soon.

Okay, I'm relieved. Thank you! She does look much better today. Her vent is normal except for a few dried blood spots and her comb'wattle color is back to normal.
