Hello! Our sweet Stella is a Delaware and 3 years old. She had had reproductive tract issues for about 2 years. Her norm is to lay soft or rubbery eggs, usually from the roost bar overnight and I clean up the splatter in the morning. She has been to the vet several times, had blood work and x rays, all came back normal. We even had the superlorin (sp?) implant injected to her last October which made her stop laying for about 4 months to see if a little break would help- it didn’t really- once she started laying again 9 out of 10 we’re still soft.
This week she has started having blood ge out on the eggs, Any advice? Has anyone seen this before? She acts/drinks/behaves normally and is happy, these eggs and blood clots have just been appearing. Debating on taking her back to the vet as they already know she has issues and I’m not sure what else they would do except maybe antibiotics? But not sure if this is an infection or just her egg tract going severely downhill. I could care less about the eggs as we don’t eat hers anyway with all the medication she’s been on but I just want her to be happy!

I would probably go back to the vet for another hormone implant. She obviously has some reproductive problem, such as salpingitis, but I am not a vet.

Yes, I have been researching that and I think one of the eggs she laid is definitely a last egg.

I just started her on some antibiotics so hopefully that helps.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
