The good news is, we got the first easter egger egg today. The bad (?) news is, it looks like there is some blood on the outside of the shell. Is this normal for a first egg?

For the first egg, yes it can be normal til her innards get used to laying eggs. If bloody eggshells continue, there may be a problem in her oviduct or a problem with capillary worms depending on the amount of blood on the eggshell. Also, check for mites around her vent area.

ok That's about what I thought. But I have never had blood on the outside of an egg befoe, so jsut wanted to make sure. Thanks!
