Bloody Foot

My son being a dork decided to bring chickens in the house. He grabbed my D'uccle and freaked out because she has bloody foot feathers. I cant see anything wrong except a missing feather maybe but it was my understanding feathers didnt have a blood supply. Please help

Newly emerging feathers do have a blood supply thus the moniker "blood feathers". I think your bird may have hit one of those. They can bleed a crazy, scary amount if damaged. You can use styptic gel and pressure to alleviate the bleeding, but sometimes the feathers must be plucked out to stop the bleeding.

I just had a chicken damage one of her main primary blood feathers and she bled like a stuck pig. It was difficult to stop the bleeding. I was just about ready to start panicking when I finally got it under control.
