Yesterday I heard squawking and screaming like never before with my silkies, I mean it sounded like pure terror. I ran out with the dog expecting a coyote or something. Couldn’t find Isabelle my black silkie. I thought for sure a predator got her. Looked and looked. She was far off under a tree in obviously distressed, labored wheezing breathing. Blood dripping out of her mouth! We picked her up she couldn’t hold her head up and within one minute she was dead! I’ve never seen this before
No obvious injury. We checked all over. Could it have been a puncture wound that we didn’t see? But then again if it was a predator she would have been gone
She had been eating and laying without obvious problems I’ve been told that silkies can hide illness until it’s too late. Sadly curious
