One of my eight-week-old hens appears to have some dried blood coming from one of her nostrils. I don't believe it's an external injury but I can't be certain. She seems otherwise fine. Eating and drinking, upright, clear eyes with no discharge, didn't struggle when I picked her up to look at it.

I don't know. Hoping she maybe just bumped her beak and it bled from the inside a bit -- there's a little spot on the side (visible in the image) that looks tender.

They are currently cooped in the garage because it's still too cold and damp here in WI for them to be outside, so I cranked the dehumidifier in there and increased the garage temp to 56 F as it's supposed to rain and storm the next few days.

Thoughts on what to do? Thank you.

If there's continual bleeding, that could be an issue. But just a slight abrasion on the nare like that is most likely insignificant.

The most likely cause of the injury is one of her playmates hauling off and delivering a peck to the head that landed slightly off target. Put a dab of Neosporin on it and try not to worry.

@azygous Thank you for your help. I'm going out in a few minutes to say good morning and check on everyone. Hopefully this is what happened and a little Neosporin will be sufficient!
