I just went out to open the coop and realized one pullet did not come out. She is a 21 week old barred rock of healthy weight who is normally one of the first out. I opened the coop and found her still coming down the ramp or really just standing on the ramp. Her comb which had been bright red last night has now turned a yellowish color. There was not stools (poop) really under the area where she roosted instead it was a white and light red mix scattered in about a 12 inch or greater area. I have sand pans on the droppings board and the sand looked like it had absorbed a lot of liquid it was moist instead of dry. I did also see her poop out a white, light red, and clear poop in the run just before I came in. Yesterday she was active and alert and today she is huddled with her head close to her body and not moving much. I have been expecting her to start laying any day now so it is possible that an egg has broken in her. I'm about to look up egg binding and bring her in. As far as my housing goes they live in an enclosed coop and run with a sand floor inside and out. It is scooped every day or two. They eat layena and oyster shell. I supplement with green vegetables and fruit in small amounts. They get out a couple hours a day to run around in our yard if the weather permits but haven't been out in the last couple of days.
