bloody poop - causes other than cocci?

I bought six new birds last week, not sure on age, they are young but feathered. They are quarantined in the basement, four larger in dog crate and two smaller in a box. This morning I found two bloody stools in the box with the two smaller. I started them on sulmet but am wondering since they have no other symptoms if this is the right thing to do? I know they say cocci kills them fast and to start medicine as soon as you can. Is there any other disease that it could be that I am missing? Also I need to continue the 30 day quarantine but do I need to extend it because of this?

I think you are doing the right thing by treating, it does sound like Cocci - not sure about the quaratining, though - 30 days sounds like enough to me

look up the poop chart on here. sometimes it is just normal shedding of intestinal lining.
