Bloody tail feathers and welt

I have 4-6 week old chicks and I noticed the other chicks keep pecking at one of them. I took a closer look to see blood. I immediately took the bloody chick and noticed it had a welt at on its back by the tail feathers.
I have no idea what I should do now.
Help, please.

Well I rinsed it off and put triple antibiotic anointment on it and I hope I can put it back with the others soon.

Well the wound is worse than I thought. It's a cut that goes from the back tail feathers to well under the wing. I saw the cut when it start picking at its own wound. I brought the chick back in and wash it out and put more triple antibiotic cream on it. The chick continued to peck so I bandaged it as much as I could and I put the chick in a small box and turned the lights out so hopefully the chick will go to sleep. I'm not sure what else to do.

I'm not much help on these types of issues, but I see no one's responded - someone will be here soon that has more experience than I do, I'm sure!

Is the wound still draining/bleeding, or has it stopped by now?

Oh thanks, it looks like that only it goes well to under the wing. I just checked on the chick and of course my attempt at a bandage didn't work. Poor chick is crying for its friends but no way can I put her(i think) in with the others.

How long did it take to heal before you were able to put her with the others?

I think its still bleeding because the blood is very much red.

you might try make a cozy little nest for it with a towel and mirror... do not attempt to try and put it back until the wounds are healed because they will peck at it. count on at least a week or so but dpending on how well you can keep it from pecking it op it may take longer.

I went to check on the chicks before bed and somehow this little chick jump out of the box she was in(it was covered) and managed to get into the bin with all the other chicks. I have no idea how she did this. She was sleeping neck and neck with her buddy. It was really cute. I'm going to let her sleep there tonight and separate them tomorrow when they are all awake.
