Just treated my 3 13 week old girls with corid for coccidia followed by 2 days of nutra-drench. Any and all blood cleared up except for one. Fecal float shows no cocci or worms. Vet suggested 5 more days of corid and we're on day three. She's strictly an avian vet.

Problem is one of them has poo with a small tubular, bloody looking piece in with regular looking poo. It doesn't look like intestinal lining and i see it once a day. I usually see it in the morning only. The vet wants to do all sorts of tests, xrays, etc. But I thought I'd check here to see if anyone has experienced this or has any idea what it could be.

They all act normal, eat and drink and run around. No sickly behavior. In fact if I didn't notice the poo I wouldn't think anything is wrong. But I also know they can hide illness pretty well.

I'm really concerned. I don't want to put any of them through stressful tests, etc at the vet. So if any of you have any ideas, please, please, please post! Thanks.[[

Thanks for the responses. I thought about the intestinal lining, too, but everyday seems excessive. I do hope the extra treatment helps and have no idea what to do if itndoesn't.

Perhaps if you could post a picture of the poop with the strange tubular thing someone might recognize what it is.

Good idea. Don't know why I didn't think of that first!

I'll take one in the morning when I know it will be there and easy to photograph instead of in the sand.

That's what I thought it looked like, too, but why would she be shedding it every morning? Is that OK? Seems excessive to me, but then I'm not a chicken expert.

Thanks you so much for responding!
