I have a new hatchling who is only an hour old or so. It was being picked on for a while, and once we saw blood, we pulled it out and put it in it's own space under a chick heater. Is this the vent or belly button? Is it treatable?

Thanks in advance!

Thats the navel. (like the belly button) It will be just fine. Can you separate it for a bit until it heals up? You don't need to do anything, unless you wamt to put a little triple antibiotic ointment on it. Thats not even necessary though. I've had several hatch out with the whole yolk exposed, and even they made it. Good luck

Great - thank you. Yes, I've moved it to a safe brooder for now.
