Blooie's Blankie Fort

I thought you'd never ask....

A Poem
By Blooie

I went into the feed store
Just to buy a bag of starter,
I knew there'd be new chicks inside
So today it would be harder.

I walked right past the brooder boxes
Looked neither left nor right,
I heard the little chickies peep
And vowed I'd avoid the sight.

After paying for my order,
And heading for the door,
I opted just to take a peek,
A quick look - nothing more.

So here I sit in my orange suit,
Waiting my case on the docket-
How the heck do you suppose
Those chicks got in my pocket?
I love it!!!! That's great!!!

I forgot to post the update, didn't I? Shoot, shame on me! Most of them look really good. I have 2 with loose air cells, but the majority of the cell is intact - just seems to be on one side in each of them where they bobble a little. But I left them alone and didn't disturb them, and they'll all remain upright from now all the way through incubation. I have one that's pretty porous...the Silkie. Other than that they all look great and I'm hoping to pop them into the Brinsea this evening.

You did such a great job, Nate. I would have no problem ordering and buying hatching eggs from you again. From here on out it's up to me, the incubator's cooperation, and the Good Lord.

And no more contests with eggs as a prize! Sheesh, talk about pressure!!

The others are just tiny one yellow, one a silvery and one black. I have no idea what kind they are but excited to try and figure it out. I thought I'd bring some tea to the blankie fort to share. My candled eggs are 10/10 so far. Day 16 starting now. Lol
If that is one of your photos, you should put it in the cute chicks contest! You never know you might win some eggs like Blooie!
I entered it in the chick mug contest!

What I find best is to let the eggs that have loose air cells sit for 24 hours before popping them in to make sure they don't do anything. I put mine in horizontally and hand turn, but you can't in a brinsea. Good luck on hatching them, and I look forward to seeing pics.
