If possible to tell at this age, is my new 12 week old Wyandotte a blue-laced red or a splash-laced red (or bl/sl-buff/gold?), or is she too young to tell? It really doesn't matter, I just want to call her the right color.

So I guess she's a splash-laced red (or buff?) then?

The lady who sold her to me said she could change color as she gets older, but I really don't think that lady knows much about BLRWs. She had about 50 pullets and 2 cockerels, and most of them were even lighter than Betty and didn't have as good lacing, too much red/buff or good body type. She said they came from New Mexico, with the other BRs and Wyandottes she had (SL and GL), whatever that means (hatchery most likely). Still, Betty is a pretty little girl, and I am happy with her..

I would think she is a splash, but like the lady told you their colors can drastically change. If she gets darker I would say she is a BLR, but if she stays that light or gets lighter she would be a splash I think.

This was my Splash Wyandotte (taken at 8 weeks old)

She is still a BLRW, but she is splash. The person above me also has a splash, but has has most of the blue bred out if by breeding splash to splash without reintroducing the black. They are all gorgeous brids, no matter what though!
