Oh my gosh! I just love it!!!! What's the BLRW's personality like?

Hi @Chicknbootz , the Ameraucana and Minorca will jump up my shoulder and head, but the BLRW is a little more timid. She still runs up and goes for treats out my hand though. The 3 of them have their own roost and haven't dared join the others yet.

BLRW is still very fluffy when you pick her up. The other 2 seem to have less of those down type feathers now.

It's from Sandhill Preservation hatchery. They don't breed Austra Whites. Do you think they are passing off Austra Whites as White Minorcas?

She has black "leakage" meaning she has only 1 copy of the dominant white gene, and the whites were created by adding dominant white to a blackminorca. That is not surprising since blacks are so much more common.

yes she is a White Minorca but not the best. The population of the Whites got to a dismal low point with near zero breeders and to resurrect the breed from extinction a cross was made with the Black version to keep the best Minorca traits. Had hoped all of the kinks were worked out but a few still show up. I am growing a large number out this Fall and hope to select only top notch ones. I do not raise Austra Whites.

So she is a White Minorca. The black "leakage" come from the Black Minorca genes.
