They can take a long time to lay-sometimes 7-8 months with the darker winter months coming

Can you get another photo of the one in the back, facing away from the camera-it looks like it has bigger waddles than the others...? roo. More photos please!

Hrm... going to the Wyandotte thread might be a bit bumpy since a lot of Wyandotte breeders pretty aggressively breed out the straight comb gene that crops up in BLRWs. All of your girls in this picture have this gene.

They might be willing to sell/give a cull to you, but they probably won't part with a show-quality bird to cross with straight-combs (not calling them snooty, just saying they take a lot of pride in their lines, as they should).

Good luck with your breeding project, they look like healthy and beautiful girls

one of them looks like she's at POL. She also squated a little today. i had a single comb BLRW and i sold her to our neighbors....unfortunatly a predator got her. I was thinking about keeping her but i really want a good quality flock.

I actually sold the single comb as well. I have 5 left. I think there is one possible roo but its so hard to tell. They are somewhere between 4-5 months.

These are updated photos as of today:

After seeing the photos, I think they are all boys. Here was our boy about that age-his side feathers are a bit more mahogany than yours...but he was all boy.

Here is our girl-same age as the one above. See how much smaller her comb is and how her feather pattern is different?

These birds all look like roos to me, but the ones on page one look like hens. Are they all the same birds? Wyandottes are so hard to tell gender on.

Here is the one I know is a male on the left. The other two I thought were pullets due to their comb being a lot more smooth.
