The chicks would be red with partial lacing or messy red columbian (red columbian is the coloration of a Rhode Island red). Half of the chicks would have blue markings and the other half would have black markings. The mottling (white spots) of the speckled sussex wouldn’t be visible in the first generation, but all chicks would carry the gene. If bred to another carrier of mottling or another bird with mottling, they would be able to have mottled chicks.Anyone know what you’d get with this cross? (Or have any pictures)
I believe only 50% of the chicks would be split for mottling if I remember correctly. The chicks would be red with partial lacing or messy red columbian (red columbian is the coloration of a Rhode Island red). I believe @Poultrybonkers has second generation speckled sussex/wyandotte crosses.
All the chicks would be split for mottling since one parent is mottled.I believe only 50% of the chicks would be split for mottling if I remember correctly.
I just calculated it to double check, it's correct. All the chicks would be split for mottling since one parent is mottled.
