What can I use on my hens for open sores caused by a soon to be dinner, ROO?

We use blue lotion on the horses, can I use this on my hens?

I have the hens isolated from the roo, but the sores look pretty bad, so I know I should probably apply something. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

I think the only question for safety would be if it had painkillers in it, since chickens are allergic to some.
Otherwise, I'm sure it's fine.

You might post the ingredients if you wanted to run them by us chicke people, because I don't have that particular med on hand. I think I've seen it at the feed store though, and I thought it was good stuff.

Should be Ok to use Blu-lotion. Just be careful to make sure it doesn't have any ingrediant with "caine" in it ie. Lidocaine or benzocaine as this painkiller can kill birds.
I've had the best luck with Neosporin. You can't really use too much! Clean the wound by flushing with betadine (not peroxide or iodine this kills healthy flesh) & then apply neosporin or Blu-Lotion liberally. Keep hen or hens seperated until all healed up they tend to peck at eachothers visable wounds.
Good luck!

Thank you, I think neosporin will be the easiest method....it is really hard to find other things here. Thanks again.
