Hi do java green peacocks ever mate with a indian blue peahen, and what is the outcome of the peachicks . Is it a bad idea or is it done often.

Thanks

Oh yes they will. Happens often. Green and Indian crosses and mixes are called Spaldings in the peafowl hobby.

Green x India cross will look more green than blue in color.. but only in color- males will have mostly green necks but none of the fish scale look etc. These cross birds don't look "exciting".. (can get very pretty birds by breeding the Spaldings in various ways though)

Be aware it is a very, very common for Spaldings to be called or sold as "Java Green".

Some people don't like them because they are a mix, some people like them because they are a way for them to afford or have green looking birds without problems associated with pure greens(aggression, not cold hardy, very expensive etc). Spaldings are also popular to their body type- taller, longer legged etc. which makes them more graceful looking.
