If you can go directly to Ideal Poultry, that would be best case. They are located in Cameron and definitely have Blue and Black Australorps. They also ship to post offices.

I don't think that would be difficult at all! I went to a hatchery to get a Black Australorp to add to my flock (along with a few others) because I read they're good layers and handle Texas heat well. They only had Blue Australorps left so I grabbed one and she's easily my favorite. So beautiful! I'm so glad I ended up with a Blue. I plan on getting more in the future.

I have 6 blue hens looking for a breeding age rooster. Are the blues just a color variation of the blacks or are they a separate strain all together, would like to know for sure so I know to look for a blue or black rooster.

If you are interested, Mt Healthy has splash Australorps. You could them breed blue, black & splash! You could also get splash by crossing blue with blue but percentage of splash increases with splash crossed with blue. Depending on how adventurous you feel!
