He's a cockerel, a really gorgeous one. Are you gonna try to keep him?

On the fence. I definitely want to keep him. He’s beautiful and I know the ladies have benefited from have a Roo before (predator patrol). The thought of him ripping apart one of my hens the way our Leghorn did gives me huge pause. Huge.
I do like the idea of a blue bell egger rooster. I want to look into how the whole colored egg layer offspring thing works...not that we even have room to expand much so idk why that’s even a factor. Still...

It’s true!! I was so impressed with our Leghorn rooster. Then he became hell bent on BJG blood!

Here is what he looked like...

And that was not the first time...
And this is Gladys after healing for a few weeks. She has on Blu-Kote in the pic. She was covered in blood, missing tail feathers, back of her head split open, her eye was swollen shut. It was awful!
