I think so. I’ve only ever had cochin and Brahma chickens. So she is a surprise but a welcome one. Her personality is amazing. Already my husband is saying we need to get more Polish chickens next spring. Now how often does a husband say that!!! Especially one whose family were chicken farmers…he was picking eggs for 25cents an hour starting at age 5. 13 years ago I declared I wanted chickens and he said no way! And the rest is history.OMG, she's pretty whatever she is.
Yes!!! They all went out to the coop Wednesday night. 5 1/2 weeks old. Of course, I didn’t sleep a wink that night forced myself not to go out into my barn, but went out there at first light actually waking the horses up.Any updated pics?
I ordered blue Cochins and received the Polish chick in the order. She was not an add in, and I actually ordered 12 blue cochin chicks, two chicks or a Polish. I did lose the tiniest Polish and the tiniest blue cochin within the first 48 hours despite trying everything I could to keep them alive. I didn’t have a very good experience with the hatchery I ordered them from or the hatchery they were drop shipped from. I also have seven silver laced cochin chicks that were hatched April 3 in a brooder. I ordered these through Chickens for Backyards. The chicks were drop shipped from Cackle Hatchery. Very happy with my purchase and I would highly recommend. I will definitely purchase through Chickens for Backyards again.Following. I don't know what you have but I love them.
I've always had excellent experiences with Ideal. I've never used a drop shipper though. I imagine that the drop shipper checked the "substitutions allowed" box without letting you know. I'll bet they are straight run. I hope you get at least a couple of pullets.I ordered blue Cochins and received the Polish chick in the order. That certainly is my concern. I’ve never had so much in the way of difficulties with chicks. I have one from that batch I just isolated since the very beginning she’s had a vent issue and it’s only gotten worse. I’m giving her Corid along with everyone else but she’s half the size of the other chicks she’s just not growing that’s why I bought more pullets.I've always had excellent experiences with Ideal. Have you contacted Ideal and explained the situation? I've found them to be very helpful, and responsive to emails in the past. That certainly is my concern.
