A splash with little melanizers will become more clean than a bird loaded with melanizers.
Melanizers on a black bird give a more black bird, less rusty and more pigment (think cemani).
A blue with more melanizers will become dark blue up to off black.
The nature of a few melanizers is known (Ml and charcoal) but the rest are mysterious, probably recessive.
