This is not a sale, but it might be! I am going to Alaska (Kenai area) this spring and I just found out that it will cost over $200.00 to bring my Blue Copper/Splash Marans with me. If I have enough of people to purchase eggs then I will bring them with me, if not I will need to re-home them here.

They haven't started laying yet so I can't test fertility but I don't think that will be a problem and I would check fertility before any sale.

Right now I just want to see if there are any Alaskans who would be interested. I have 3 Splash and 2 Blue Copper Hens and one Blue Copper Rooster

Thank you for reading and I look forward to your replies.

Hi Cluckerkeeper! Hope you get to keep your Marans. We love ours and I would hate to be parted from them

If you are trying to sell your Marans birds, it would probably get more responses over on Chickens 8 weeks and older for sale. Hope this is helpful and have a blessed day! Nancy

Thank you Bargain,

I don't want to sell the chickens. I would just re-home them. I'll be gone for 5-6 months so I would like to bring them with me.

The cost of getting them through the border is the only issue in bringing them up there, so I'm hoping to sell a few eggs in Alaska to help with the cost. If I don't have any potential takers then they will stay here - and I will miss them. They are a sweet and fun chicken, even the Rooster.

It seems most sellers won't ship to Alaska so I'm hoping that there will be a few people up there who would want to have some of these quality Blue/Splash Marans of their own.

I appreciate your response!

Ah! Doing the Happy Dance! Just got the go ahead to bring them with me!!! The charges to bring them through the border into Alaska is expensive but they are my babies and I find so much joy in watching them.
