LOL. Yes. She's 100% hen. Just with defective egg-making parts, I guess. She's the chicken on the top step.

She's beautiful . I hope my girls turn out just as lovely. It's hard to find photos of a bird of the breed. Most people say there's no such thing. Here are my girls now 14 weeks. One has a gypsy face.

Marans are so beautiful. I wish mine would give me eggs!! At 15 months I've pretty much given up hope.

Hi there..Glad to find this thread! I grabbed the last 5 "pullets" at TSC yesterday. They're 2-ish wks & one of them seems to have some barring starting. Not visible in this pic though. Anyway I'd like to see any pics & info you can share... temperament, egg color & size, etc.
I told myself no more chicken math til spring but you walk by the bin & see "all chicks $1.00".... it's entrapment I tell ya!!

Mine at 2 weeks and now(front pullet) she has no barring. She's 19 weeks, close to laying and a super sweet personality.
