Blue Dust Bathing Sand???

I’m confused how can crushed granite be silica and crushed fossilized marine shells be made from silica??

Granite and a marine animals shell are the same ?? Thank you English language for making no sense at all

I can tell you, I know useless stuff

My hubby is mostly blind , I colour his salt for him all the time, regular liquid food colouring the trick is you have to let it dry a long time , like 3-4 days for a pie plate size full .

I just drop the colour and stir for ever...
Then let it dry and stir , you could dry it in the sun so it might go faster for you !!

I want pictures once done
Have you tried the powder food coloring? Might be easier for coloring your husbands salt.

I would just find a blue dish to put it in... and not dye the sand.
I know food dye is probably safe, but it seems like adding unnecessary chemicals to me...maybe I would do it occasionally when company was over or for photos though? What do you water them in? Maybe you could make a little pond , use a blue dish with those blue/green flat marble discs in the flower arranging section of walmart? or even just have that, but leave it just the marble things, no water. Then you could have a little dry pond, and their sand in something else...
