This morning I went out to check on my White Leghorn pullet to see if her pecking wound had healed, and I noticed something. She has the fluffy white earlobes, but underneath, on her face in the wrinkly red skin, its colored a kind of shiny metallic blue. On both sides, same spot. Normal? Just wondering.

I'll try to post a picture.

You mean the BLUE spot means she lays white eggs? I thought the white earlobes meant that.

I thought you meant blueish white earlobes. Maybe we should see a photo.

Well, I'm not sure...I think the earlobes are the feathers covering the ears, right? The blue spots are right below that. I'll try to get a picture...its dark her right now, so I'll take one in the morning.

Here is a shot of my cochin/silkie, she has blue earlobes, lays tan/speckled eggs...and a shot of my Calif White, white earlobes, white eggs! Go figure!

Ok, I see. I guess this is just normal. Sorry about that. I've never had a chicken who layed white eggs before.
