Blue Egg Layer To Fit Into Small Flock

The blue shell colour in all the breeds mentioned above has usually been bred in from an Araucana, and if you get a pure bred one you are guaranteed to get pure blue shells. There are different standards for Araucana; e.g. the US one is tailless, has ear tufts, and includes a lethal gene (so is not a popular option for that reason). The UK/ Australian ones have tails, do not have ear tufts, and do not have a lethal gene.
There's more info about it here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Araucana

My Prairie Bluebell Eggers lay lovely blue eggs reliably and are friendly and personable. I have six, and only two look alike, the rest are totally random! I highly recommend them.

I've seen pictures of the Prairie Bluebells, but haven't heard from anyone how they are like. So, what you said is very interesting! I like breeds that have variations in how they look, too. I'll keep them in mind. Thanks!

If you want a cool looking bird that can lay blue eggs, lakeside eggers are a good option

One thing about Cream Legbars, if you have a hen crossed with a Black Marans or Australorp rooster, the offspring would be sex-linked Olive Eggers! Mt Healthy & Ideal both have availability if you need them shipped!
Oh, that's great to know! Mt. Healthy is where I ordered the chickens I already have and they did great.
