I'm a newbie. My husband and I love our girls and their men. We have 40 girls, 3 Roos. We live way up north in a place called Alberta, Canada. It's COLD up here. We also are very limited to the breeds that are available. Our grandkids love to come and gather the eggs. We hope to get a Broodie or 2 or 3 this spring so we can hatch out done of our olive or blue eggs.

So glad you've joined our flock! Nothing better than kids and chickens (says this formerly chicken crazed kid turned chicken crazed grown-up). You'll have to share some pictures of your flock - they sound lovely. If you don't luck out with any broodies you could always try your hand at incubation.

Welcome to BYC!

I'm glad you joined us.

What breeds do you have already?

I hope you can get some broody hens and hatch out some eggs!

Continued good luck with your flock. Lots of people get silkies because they are generally super broodies, you can swap out their eggs and put any eggs you want under them. They will hatch and raise as their own.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to our flock. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your hatch.

Meet Heidi. She's a little shy but she really is pretty. She has 2 sisters. Gretel and Frieda.
