Hello, not sure if I posted in the correct place or not.

I have a White Leghorn hen about 1 1/2 years old and she has blue eyes. I searched all over the internet about chickens with blue eyes and I couldn't find anything so I'm guessing it's very rare. I just wanted to know why she has blue eyes and why the rest of my chickens and the ones I've seen all have brown eyes.

Hi.

Very cool, never seen a chicken with blue eyes.

My best guess would be that it's a recessive gene.

I know blue eyes can be more sensitive to the sun. So it might not be considered a good thing in chickens per se.....

But time to auction that beauty off!

Thanks

I actually live in a forest so I'm not too worried about that.

No way! I'm keeping her forever.
