Blue Favaucana

Not an expert, but for sure the cream legbar is a girl--my Tallulah looks just like her. I'm thinking all of the others are pullets as well, though more experienced people will chime in soon I'm sure. Beautiful birds!

Also no expert but my buff Brahmas are only 7 weeks and the cockerel comb is clearly redder than yours. Tiny comb but easy to see who's who. I'll try to get a pic tomorrow.

My blue fav baby doesn’t look like your baby. But I wonder if they look a little differen based on the cross breeding. She’s only 2 weeks old. I would love to hear more about how your blue fav development has been and when she starts laying and what color her egg is. Not very much online for the breed. Thanks!

Here are the pics of my 7 wk old Buff Brahma pullet and cockerel. No mistaking who's who.

Yeah I can definitely see the comb development in the second pic. From the time mine were about 2 or 3 weeks one of the light and one of the buff brahmas had me a bit concerned as they were feathering differently but thankfully they all seemed to end up as pullets. I haven't had the best luck with the first 2 groups of chicks this past year and with my limited space I would have to rehome any extra roos. I am trying to keep my roo count at 2, 3 might be pushing it.
I have one last group that's about 12 weeks to get through, hoping my luck from this batch continues.

I know what you mean as far as lack of info online. She has had me guessing as her posture seemed a little different than the hens i'm used to, maybe its the breed. I have been looking everywhere to find pictures for comparison.
Most of the babies I got this year are new to me. I do have a blue ameraucana that looks almost identical to the favaucana, minus the few feathers on the legs. Or rather the favaucana looks like the ameraucana since shes partially one :) She is suppose to lay a green colored egg so it will be interesting to see what shade of green since she resembles the ameraucana so much.

I’m two weeks behind you! If there isn’t a section for the breed in here, let’s create one and share our photos!

There is a Favaucana thread but not a lot of info in it. I do have a few pics when she was 4 weeks and then the ones I just took at 15 weeks, so I don't have much in between to show her development. If I get a chance today I will add my pics to hopefully help out someone else who may be wondering about their birds as I have been.

Yes. I see if I just search Favaucana, there seems to be more. Not much from MPC with their blue favaucana. My little one is doing so good now. She was struggling there for a couple weeks! None of the other chicks picked on her which I am glad for. Cant wait for pics!
