Blue, feathered legs: Is this blue copper marans?

Not Blue Copper. He's a solid Blue, not a trace of copper. The copper varieties are more common. Solid blue without any copper leakage is not something you see everyday.

Thanks for the input! I'll post an updated photo next week when I can get another one. He's developing more shiny feathers, but still no hint of copper coming in. This is helpful to know that I should call him a blue marans instead of a blue copper that happens to not really have any copper!

I'm wondering since he is young, the copper coloring hasn't come in yet because the hatchery you bought him from doesn't have plain blue Marans. Maybe he is a fluke.

Meyer does have Blue splash Marans without any copper. It's possible when breeding for splash, some chicks come out solid blue or solid black. I think that's what you have here.
