Have hen that is on the bottom of pecking order and I started treating with blue kote and have two questions.
- do I need to worry about it getting sunburned where I spray the blu kote?

- Some blu kote is getting on eggs. Are they safe to eat?

thanks

IMHO, the answer to both questions is no. Are your hen's injuries serious enough to where you should seperate her from the others for a bit?

Not safe to eat, great, thats like half of them. Dont know what she was doing but the stuff got everywhere, lol

I am seperating her hopefully tommorrow or wensday, thats when I should be done with her quarters.

Thanks

BluKote is fairly non toxic and it is not an antibiotic. If the eggs are not blue inside, they are not contaminated with BluKote. Just break them in a saucer to see before you use them. As long as the eggs aren't blue inside they should be fine.

We used to use BluKote on udders all the time. We did not withhold milk from treated goats or cows. We drank the milk. We sold the milk. We didn't die. We didn't even get sick.
