Blue Lace Red Wyandotte color identification

I got 3 BLRW straight run chicks, and now I’ve read that they can be splash, blue, or black. I’m wondering what I have and when I can tell. My chicks are 5 weeks old. I’m pretty sure I have at least 1 blue which is lighter colored in the photo with 2. I’m curious about the other 2 who are darker.

I'm not sure if you have 3 with blue lacing (different shades of blue), or some with blue lacing and some with black lacing. None have splash.

I often have a hard time telling black from blue in photographs, because black is often so shiny it looks lighter in a picture.

Black would be black (like the black in any other chicken), and blue is a gray-ish shade, that can be darker or light on different chickens.

I see. So if there is any grey at all, they’re blues? All 3 chicks have some grey in their feathers.

Sounds like you probably have blues then.

I have very little direct experience with blue in chickens, which means I've never learned to tell them apart very well
