So I got my chicks in 2 days ago, and included in my order were three BLR wyandotte chicks from a straight run. I've tried and tried to figure out the sex of the chicks, I don't know how to vent sex them and I'm afraid of hurting them if I try. I can't seem to tell by their wings all of their wing feathers look like they've grown in some, and I even tried the old timey method of gently holding them by the scruff but they all kicked except one who let it's legs dangle but when i did it a second time it pulled it's legs up as well. I can only keep them if they're pullets as I've already gotten a designated rooster. And my father and mother in law each want one but only if they're pullets. Does anyone know a better way to sex them or if you had BLR that was a rooster what did he look like that was different from the females? There is one that is a little larger (I don't know if size matters that young) and is a darker red and grey, the other two are yellow and grey all have a grey spot on the top and down the back the only difference is the one darker larger one. At what age will it be more apparent and what should I be looking for? Any help would be appreciated I need to figure this out as soon as possible!
