I have are new redblue laced rooster in with are golden and silver laced hens what will the chicks look like ? any ideas putting in incubator for my wifes 3rd grade class thanks brutus

If you click on my here chick chick album below and look at the last few pics you'll get a few examples. I can take some better pics for you for ones that I know are pure wyandotte crosses w/o the maran in the mix. (If you would like that let me know.) The coloring can be very pretty. Nice and hardy birds too. Good luck! :)

If your male is a standard blue laced red, all your chicks should be the single laced pattern. Now as to color, half the chicks should recieve the blue lacing from the male. All the chicks from the gold laced females will be gold base colored. The degree of red they recieve from the male may vary some. The female chicks out of the silver laced females should also be gold based. The male chicks on the other hand will be split silver/gold, most likely looking more like a silver lace with brassy gold showing in neck and saddle feathers.

blue laced roo + gold laced mom =

Good example of the varying degree of red possible resulting from crossing blue laced red to gold laced. Note the lighter tone of the breast feathers versus back. Too many people would call this hen a blue laced red, but she should have a deeper red base color through out. She shows clues to her gold laced ancestory.
