Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

Does anyone have an opinion on PULLET breeder roos? What makes a good one? I asked about the two roos I got back yesterday. Poor lady hatched 4 and ALL were roo. These 2 were different.... I was not sure they were roos because they had so much lacing on the wings. They are very different than my other roos too.

Does anyone have a roo line and a pullet line?????

if not in the Wyandottes, you might ask if any cochin breeders are double breeding... I know there's been some discussion in the past.

Could you please explain what a roo line and a pullet line are for us Novice people ?

It's when a breeder keeps 2 separate lines of the same breed and variety, one line geared toward producing pullets with the traits that the breeder would like, and the other producing superior cockerels.

When I got my Foley birds he was setting up a Pullet line and Cockerel line for his SLW..... I don't know if that is something you can do in the BLRW.... I don't know what to look for to do it anyway. They do that with SPW too.... darker for roos and lighter for pullets or the other way around. IDK.... I just have one line for them right now...

I am going to TRY these new roos and see if lacing improves on the pullets.
