Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

Did Jerry by any chance mention to you how the shows are going this year? (as far as getting the BLRW accepted by the APA).
Not specifically, but I know it's getting close. He has the forms on his page for those that show to help get them excepted. I have only been breeding for 3 years and he needs I believe 5 years of showing records and breeding to add to his cause. I may be wrong on the time lines but I know on his site he has more information on it.

Not the best photos but here's some of my breeding flock from Jerry Foley.

This is my first go round with BLRW Bantams and some of the feathers have white tips to them. Is this normal for them? Tried uploading a pic but its not letting me.

A few of my LF BLRW had that as chicks. They molted those feathers though and their adult feathers look great.

Today, I'm going to look at some BLRW pullets that someone is selling (fairly) locally. The photos she sent me were of poor quality so I have no idea what to expect. I'm really hoping that hers are as good or better quality than the ones that I have. If not, it's going to be a lot of driving for nothing... As much as I could use a few more pullets, I'm not going to just settle for just anything.

Well, I bought a pair today instead of two pullets. I thought my husband's head was going to explode when I told him that I brought home another cockerel! I think this one looks more promising than any of the ones I hatched this year. The pullet is beautiful too! I'm very excited about adding them to my flock (after quarantine of course!) I'll take some photos once they're settled in.

I've only bred direct Foley Line BLRW and none have hatched with white in them. Must just be the line they have then.

What did you have to give for the pair? The cock has some brass but the lacing looks OK. I'm on my phone so I can't blow the photo up and get a proper look. But nice yellow legs and combs looks good too. I'm no expert but they look better than a lot I see for a starter pair I think you have something to work with.

Thanks! They have much better coloring than my starter flock. These two are only 3.5 months old so they have quite a bit of growing and filling out to do. I'm hoping their type will be as good as their color. I'm going to keep my other pullets and probably one cockerel for now. It remains to be seen whether or not they will have anything positive to contribute.
