Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

For sale to a good home: 1 BLRW rooster (1.5yrs old) named Napoleon Located near Portland, Oregon (cannot ship) He is a great flock leader, all the ladies love and respect him. He has been my backup breeder but now I have a whole group of new chicks (mostly males) to grow out and so I will have lots of backups to replace him. His flockmates recently molted and are coming out of it. But he is not yet in full molt.. it is just starting. Right now his tail feathers fell out but that's it. He will be molting soon. His main flaw that I am aware of is that he has 3 points/leaders on his comb. This can be overcome by breeding to single pointed females. It is not a DQ, it is just points off (if you are showing). I think he is still a handsome guy. His line is from chickenhill. Napoleon (with tail) Napoleon now (tail feathers fell out at start of molt) Here is one of his sisters so you can see the females in his line: send me a PM if you are interested in purchasing him! Located in Oregon Would love to trade for a BLRW hen. If not, I would prefer that he go somewhere he can breed with BLRWs. He is just too handsome to go to a mixed flock.

Hello

Pullet?

Pullet and cockerel?

So in love with the colors!

Little pullet

Seriously infatuated with these chicks! I think our older birds are starting to get jealous. I even go out after dark sometimes. lol
If my guesses are right, we are a little heavy on cockerels, but that's okay.

I was wondering about their patterns/coloring. Is it too soon to make any guesses on how they might turn out?

Thank you glachooks!
Yours sure are cute :)
Tha only thing I cull for at your chicks age is if they look orange. If it is bright at that age, I have found they do not darken like they should :)

I found this hard knot growing on the edge of the eyelid of a BLRW pullet. It is keeping the outer eyelid from closing. Any idea what it is or what I can do with it?

Jeeze, you scared me for a sec! Then I saw my hand in that one pic. I am nowhere near that pale, OR that orange IRL!

I better get a real camera out there if I'm going to be boasting.

Hi everyone! I am brand new here (and to chickens actually! This is my first flock!) and was hoping to get some guesses or advice as to the gender of my babies! When they were little a chicken friend said she thought they were all girls but now that they are almost 4 months old, 2 have the beard thingy (waddle?) and the other 2 don't. Are these photos good enough? Anyone have any guesses? I only have 4, so there are multiple photos of some. I have one darker almost black one, one that is sort of orange and 2 that are white with red. They were all sold to me as BLR but i'm thinking that is not right? Thank you for reading!

Just reread this and thought maybe that isn't what you were saying, after all. In any case, I should probably stop taking pictures with my phone.
