no problem... as I've said before, gorgeous bird, and with the right roo would have some very nice offspring quite likely, IF you can find a very good roo.I see now. Thanks.
Okay, I will weigh in, but I am not squatting. har har... The black laced is out of birds I bought from Jerry Foley. Kind of doubt he is going breed in Barnvelder and I don't think he would cross onto his partridge line he had. Pictures below are of the parents. We'll wait for Chickenhill to weigh in on the Barnvelder cross...she's our only squatter...so easy to pick her up.
Theres an Emily in here from san diego, CA. Who owns blue laced red wyandottes? Emily if you can read this post could you be so nice to send me a PM? I have a question for you regards to some chicks that suppost to be offsprings of your chickens that a guy just sold to me
If you look earlier in this thread there was a post from Phage regarding some chicks that were sold to someone in the Bakersfield area and being resold. I believe Phage and Emily co-breed so you might contact Phage.
Quote: That roo looks blue to me..... my black roo I got from Jerry has a green sheen and I don't see that on your roo. He looks a lot like my DARK blue roo I got from Jerry...... I have 3 roo from Jerry.
This is my $50 Blue Roo from Foley he is BLUE he is older now LOL
This is my $100 Roo from Foley. He too is older hehe
I don't seem to have one of the Black roo...... strange......
The hen to the LEFT of the $100 roo was PENCILLED after she molted. I just sold her the other day. She was still laying and I had her with the $50 roo and the eggs just would not hatch for some reason. I just wanted to see what would happen with her chicks. I may have a couple growing out from that cross. She was with the $100 roo for most of my hatches..... so far I have not see the pencilling again. we will see......
I too doubt he would have crossed barnies into them...... I wouldn't count out the partridge to keep the mahogany gene really dark..... either way they are really pretty birds.
