no problem... as I've said before, gorgeous bird, and with the right roo would have some very nice offspring quite likely, IF you can find a very good roo.

We'll wait for Chickenhill to weigh in on the Barnvelder cross...she's our only squatter...so easy to pick her up.

Okay, I will weigh in, but I am not squatting. har har... The black laced is out of birds I bought from Jerry Foley. Kind of doubt he is going breed in Barnvelder and I don't think he would cross onto his partridge line he had. Pictures below are of the parents.

If you look earlier in this thread there was a post from Phage regarding some chicks that were sold to someone in the Bakersfield area and being resold. I believe Phage and Emily co-breed so you might contact Phage.

I don't seem to have one of the Black roo...... strange......

The hen to the LEFT of the $100 roo was PENCILLED after she molted. I just sold her the other day. She was still laying and I had her with the $50 roo and the eggs just would not hatch for some reason. I just wanted to see what would happen with her chicks. I may have a couple growing out from that cross. She was with the $100 roo for most of my hatches..... so far I have not see the pencilling again. we will see......

I too doubt he would have crossed barnies into them...... I wouldn't count out the partridge to keep the mahogany gene really dark..... either way they are really pretty birds.

So finally pull the trigger in this 2 BLRW chicks that a local guy was selling, they suppost to come from Emily's chicken line, the guy has 4 and on the pictures that he sent to me they look black instead of blue, so finally went to this guy to check them in persone and i grab the 2 lightest in color, the other 2 were way to dark, hopefully this time the 2 that i choose are pullets since the last time the 2 that i grab from chicken galore end up Roo's, this chicks are around 4-5 weeks

They have small combos for their age not like the other 2 that right away start develop big red combos, hopefully this 2 are hens but im not even close to be expert, any input would be appreciated
