in my experience, the slow feathering ones are cockerels. the pullets seem to feather in as fast as other breeds... it may not hold true 100% but that's MY experience.

That's what I'm afraid of. Of course its my favorite.

I think she looks blue? if the stripe on her back is black, then she is black...
reddish back stripe should be blue. depending on the line....

here are 3 of mine.

outside, I was thinking this was a blue/splash/black. now I wonder if the right one is a blue? and 2 splash? LOL

Oh man Farmer, testing my memory with Dudes age. I think he was 7 months then. The pen of 3 were his daughters and had his comb to prove it.

no way! the one on the far right definitely isn't a splash...
her back looks black until she gets into the light, then it's more red (indicates Blue in this line)

I would guess, based on this picture, The left one is a light blue, the middle a splash and the right either dark blue or black - I am leaning toward dark blue.

Keep us posted to know how they develop.
