I'm so excited!

I plan on getting a few BLRW come spring! Never have had them before, but they are just so pretty! I'll be getting hatchery, so won't be as impressive as some on this thread, but still pretty I'm sure. I read somewhere that they can have a "tendancy" towards dominate behavour. Anyone find this to be true? Thanks!

I must be lucky then I guess. My Roo is the best "Gentleman" to all his ladies, and the hens are gentle too. I even have little Polish running around and they all get along fine.

Most are fine. In all the roosters I have grown out 3 have went to the stew pot for spurring people. The rest have been fine. Hens no problems. What I meant before I lost service was in raising them in a group they are fine. When grown and you bring new hens or roosters to the flock then they do show domanice Issues till they have accepted the new bird. Some will be worst then others. They are no where near as bad as game birds and such.
Mine will hang up on new birds for a few days.
Then they work it out.

They are really nice and they tame down very nice if you go and just sit and maybe talk to them and treats help. ( talking helps them get use to your voice) and soon they will come running anytime the hear you.
I have found if you add the new birds at night as soon as they are settled in for the night. It helps them get use to their new smell and not so fast to jump them.
Just remember every single bird is different. Just like people and there will be bully's and big mouths and sweet tempered ones too.
Best thing is get to know your birds and do what works best for your flock.

New Chicks, 2 weeks old. I hatched these from the same stock that I got my other ones from. If they are hens, I am giving them to my FIL for egg layers.

With their hatch mates.
