Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

and my roo. the flash lightened him up some...

Is my Lacy...a Larry???

We have two BLRW's that are 7 weeks old. They, along with the other chicks, were raised by us from day old chicks. We had noticed that one of them has a much more pronounced comb than the other and is also starting to develop small waddles. During the past week she (all were supposed to be girls) has started trying to peck me when I reach into the brooder/coop. We noticed yesterday that "she" was carrying her tail feathers up while the other Wyandotte tail feathers are always down.

She appears very aggressive towards me (my hand). The other one, while not overly friendly, remains submissive and shows no aggressive posturing at all. So...Is my Lacy...actually a Larry?

Any help and guidance would be appreciated (we can't have roo's). Thanks!

Thanks for the replies. Wow. Now comes the next problem. I may try to post a couple of pictures before I take the next step. We can't have roo's in the city. Thanks again!

Hi. I've loved BLRW since I first got chicks last year. My first one was from a hatchery and she only lived for a week. This guy is from a breeder in WI who I don't trust much of what they say on their website, (my order was fulfilled horribly), so I can't tell if he's hatchery or better quality. What do you think of him?

I only have one other Wyandotte - a SLW who is from a hatchery. She's pretty poor quality. I don't plan to breed to sell any eggs or chicks, but I am planning to put them together for a little while to see what I come up with. I've looked at the chart and know I do have a chance of getting some BLRW from them, and some other interesting combos.
