Hello, all! I thank you for your participation. I know this may seem weird but we have a conundrum on our farm. We ordered one Blue Laced Red Wyandotte from Murray McMurray back in March of 2018. We also received a free rare breed with that order. Our free rare turned out to be another Blue Laced Red Wyandotte.
When I look at the pictures they list on their website, their rooster is CLEARLY a roo. He's got a prominent comb and waddles, bright red and he's strong-looking.
And then...there's ours.
Can all of you wise people help me? These were hatched March 26, 2018. This photo was taken August 22, 2018. Even today, September 19th, neither has crowed and neither has even tried to sit in a laying box. We have actually seen a roo or two try to breed the one on top, Pingu. But, that was when they were first released in the pasture and they seemed to not really know what they were doing as far as successful gender roles. Our older Black Jersey Giant was trying to show off for one of our Barred Rock roos. Funny stuff.
So, anyone have any ideas on what these two are? One hen, one roo? Two roos?
Thanks!
