I have two BLRW chicks, 5-6 weeks old. I’ve noticed they have two very different types of combs. One is slightly pinkish and flat, the other is peach/flesh colored and looks like a pea comb. Is this normal? If not what causes it?

You have a straight comb amd a rose comb. The straight combs are undesired, but if you're not showing its fine. The rose comb is correct for the breed.

They came from the same clutch of eggs. Would the different combs be indicative of gender or is it just a random attribute?

It can just pop up. Some people breed in a few straight combs because birds with straight combs have better fertility apparently. It doesn't indicate gender.
