We were given 5 SLW that are the only survivors out of a flock of 24 that was attacked by some kind of predator. Looks like the same kind of damage one of ours got from a fox. They all have bare butts and I was worried about them getting pecked by my other hens. The only Blue Kote I could find I would have to order from Jeffers and the shipping costs about doubled the price. Found Blue Lotion locally and it looked to be the same kind of stuff so I tried it. Does not seem to last very long. Does Blue Kote stay blue for a significant amount of time?
If you're concerned about possible pecking, I'd look into saddles for the hens. Good luck!
