Blue Marans had Wheaten Marans Chicks?

Hi Everyone!

I'm a new member on BYC and I have a lot of questions about the new breeds of chickens I'm getting into!

This is the first year my Blue Copper Marans hen and Blue Marans rooster have had a hatch together and some of the chicks that came from the these two beauties where yellow while the others were gray or white.


This guy is from my second hatch and he is starting to get a little bit of gray on his tail feathers.




These two are 4 weeks older (First Hatch).


Anyways I'm just wondering if this is normal or do I have "Heinz 57" Breed?
