Blue orp? Silkie? or Mutt?

I'm thinking of adding one of these to my little flock.

Any ideas on which is best??

I just love the look of the blue orps! Here is speckledhen's blue orp rooster named Suede. He is the one who converted me to the blue orps.

I heard silkies are sweet but umm not too bright.

I like silkies!
They just have a hard time seeing because of the crest, but if you tie it up, they act like normal chickens

What do you plan on getting them for? What breeds do you already have?

I'm a MUTT person! Out of all 5 birds I've had, I've never had a purebred chicken...

well it depends on what you are wanting to do with them.. if you want a good broody than id go with silkies.. if you want a good layer\\big bird than id go with orp.. if you want a bird that is totaly unique in its own way and no one olse in the world has a bird that loks like the one you have.. then id go with mut..

I'd first take into consideration how the RIR's will get along with them.

I've never had a silky, but I've had orpingtons, and crosses. My crosses have been joys, and the orpingtons are one of my favorite breeds. Make it a blue orpington, and I'd beeline for it.

But, Schmooborp is right, what do you want them for? To look nice in the flock, eggs....?

well you could always get a few of each lol personally my favorite chickens are barred rock and light brahma thanks to tuffoldhen but out of your choices barnyard mix one they are cheap 2 they are usually abandoned because no one wants them they want pure breds and 3 they are usually prettier
