I'm getting light brown eggs with a pinkish tint in them. The pinkish tint appears a bit chalky and if the eggs are washed, that pinkish tint washes off exposing the light brown egg. Is this normal?

Yes. Orps lay brown/tan/pinkish, depending on....well...parents, source, diet, all that stuff.

The chalky coating is the bloom, it protects the egg from bacteria entering the shell. It is normal, some chickens just have more bloom than others.
