Blue Polish is solid white!

We just hatched our first batch of White Crested Blue Polish and one is solid white! Will it stay that way? Is there such a thing as an Albino chicken?

There is such a thing as an albino chicken, but most likely she is just a white Polish.

My guess is that it is a splash. The blue feather gene is partially dominant and it modifies what would normally be a black feather. If you get two "blue" genes at that gene pair, you get a splash (mostly white with black markings). If one is a "blue" gene you get a blue chicken. If none are "blue" you get black.

If you cross a blue with a blue you can get Splash, Blue, or Black.

I am betting on it being a splash, as a color variation within the blue genetics

well it died anyway so i guess ill never know but for some reason it broke my heart, i always hate losing one but this one got to me!
